A test that pushes limits

LIQUI MOLY and AGM-Jimco X6 SCORE trophy truck at Baja 1000

November 2011 – The Baja 1000 is not only one of the toughest off-road races in the world. It is also a huge testing ground for new technologies. All German Motorsports' new Jimco X6 SCORE trophy truck is a completely new development and premieres at the Baja 1000 in November. With respect to oil, they trust the German motor oil specialist LIQUI MOLY.

Under conditions like those of the Baja 1000, every part of the car must be able to withstand extreme stress. This is also true of the fluids. Dust, high air temperatures and a powerful engine operated at its limit demand motor oil that is capable of dealing with all these challenges. "The workload required of the gear box oil is even greater during the race," says Armin Schwarz. He is one of the drivers of the Jimco X6 SCORE trophy truck. "It is crucial to use oils that ensure full performance until the end of the race."

"You have to keep in mind that the Baja 1000 is a desert race," says Oliver Kuhn from LIQUI MOLY's R&D department. "High temperatures and an extreme workload increase the requirements of racing fluids far beyond common standards." LIQUI MOLY was able to provide All German Motorsports with all the fluids they need.

There are a number of reasons why All German Motorsports decided in favor of LIQUI MOLY. First, they already know from their own experience about the high quality of the products. LIQUI MOLY is a German company and manufactures exclusively in Germany to keep its quality level high. Then there is the obvious connection between a German company and a team called All German Motorsports. Finally, they like the LIQUI MOLY philosophy of listening closely to customers and responding quickly to their wishes.

The trophy trucks represent the category with the biggest vehicles at the Baja 1000. The Jimco X6 SCORE trophy truck is a completely new development of All German Motorsports. The design aims to reduce weight as much as possible without sacrificing durability. The result is 1700 lbs less weight than with other trucks. This was achieved through efficient design and the use of modern materials. "In European motorsport this is already a common way to improve the weight-to-power ratio," says Armin Schwarz.

Despite this advantage, All German Motorsports downplay their chances at this year's Baja 1000: "This will be the first race for the truck. For us it is more of an extended test than a real race", says Armin Schwarz. "But in 2012 or 2013, we definitely want to win the Baja 1000 as the first Europeans to ever do so." LIQUI MOLY will do its best to support the team in reaching this goal.

LIQUI MOLY is available at Worldpac, IMC, NAPA, Bavarian Autosport, Northside Imports and SSF.
